At HealthEquity, secure access is the foundation of everything we do – helping your employees get started faster, stay protected, and engage more confidently with their benefits.
The new HealthEquity login experience is for members who are logging in for the first time to set up their account and passkey credential, and for existing members who haven’t yet set up a passkey.

The new HealthEquity app provides a next generation experience where every member
can manage their benefits in one place, get personalized guidance, and access instant support.
When launched, members will need just one
app, one login, and one passkey to access all HealthEquity accounts, including EZ Receipts. Existing members keep access to everything they use today, consolidated under a single
login and passkey.
With the launch of the app, all new member onboarding materials will feature only the HealthEquity brand and one HealthEquity app.

The new HealthEquity app provides a next generation experience where every member can manage their benefits in one place, get personalized guidance, and access instant support.

FAQs
Are passkeys required?
Passkey is required for all account holders using the HealthEquity mobile and web experiences.
What if our employees use EZ Receipts today?
Plan participants can continue to login on web at participant.wageworks.com and in the EZ Receipts app. We recommend new and existing plan participants complete the simplified login on web and set up a passkey.
What if our employees use HealthEquity today?
Plan participants can continue login on web at my.healthequity.com and in the HealthEquity app. We recommend new and existing plan participants complete the simplified login on web and set up a passkey.
What counts as a valid phone number?
A landline or mobile phone number that is on
the enrollment record for the member/plan participant. Voice over internet protocol (VOIP) numbers cannot be used for identity verification.6
What if the member record doesn’t have a phone that matches in the identity verification step?
Alternate identity verification steps including additional data matching to record and/or selfie compared with a government issued ID are offered.1
Is one passkey universal for both web and app when created on simplified login?
Yes, when account registration and passkey set up are completed, the passkey on your device can be used universally for log in to web and mobile apps. At next login, select “Sign in with passkey” and a pop up with the existing registered passkey will appear.
Is there a change to the login experience for members with already registered passkeys?
No, they will continue to login to web and app environments with existing passkeys. When the new HealthEquity app is released, passkey is stored on their device – mobile phone, tablet, desktop computer – and automatically aligns to the new app.
Why is a username created in the account registration flow?
The username (passkey name) created during the setup flow is system generated and “names” the passkey that is associated with the member’s device. Members select the named passkey when they return to login; they do not enter a “username”. The passkey is never revealed to HealthEquity. It is maintained with a “username” for backward compatibility so both the member and HealthEquity Member Services can retrieve the account when necessary, using existing account-service processes. A member using multiple devices to log in could create multiple passkeys, each named differently because passkeys are device bound.
What if someone doesn’t have a smartphone?
They can use a passkey-capable computer with Face ID, fingerprint, or device PIN login. There is also a passkey fallback for members who are unable to complete passkey registration.
How do passkeys work best?
For the best experience, employees and plan participants should:
- Make sure they have the latest version of the HealthEquity app
- Turn on app notifications
These steps help ensure they see the prompt and can complete setup easily.
What is verification with a selfie and government-issued ID?
If verifying with a phone number doesn’t work, we guide the employee or plan participant through the selfie ID verification process — so we know it's really them. They will be prompted to take a selfie on their mobile phone and compare it with a government-issued ID. View a demo here.

6Passkey set up is also available online using a desktop, laptop or tablet computer. A valid phone number is required to register a passkey. Voice over internet protocol (VoIP) numbers will not verify. SSO login does not require passkey, but direct use of mobile or web login does require passkey.
